Something about it immediately reminded me of Robyn’s “Baby Forgive Me”, not in an obvious or derivative way, but in that same combination of emotional electronic pop and effortless movement. “Ocean Between Us” takes that feeling somewhere brighter and more summery, with a little more sunshine coming through the speakers.
And the timing feels just right. With the end of summer slowly approaching, this is exactly the kind of track that fits those final warm evenings before everything starts changing again.
A very pleasant find. Unfortunately, “Ocean Between Us” is currently the only Gabba Fendi track on Spotify, so there isn’t much more to explore just yet. I’ll be keeping an ear out for whatever comes next.

There’s something instantly warm and easy about Gabba Fendi’s “Ocean Between Us”. Sharp, bright electronic sounds fill the track, yet somehow everything still feels smooth and completely at ease.
The Vienna-based artist describes it as a summer pop anthem inspired by heartbreak and the immigrant experience, about leaving the past behind and finding freedom on the other side. Musically, though, it never feels heavy. It stays light on its feet, colourful and very danceable.
